Joseph Johnson

Joseph Johnson is an Australian British artist born in 1975 Parkes, Australia. In 2011 he completed a MA in Fine at Central Saint Martins in London and has exhibited his work Australia, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and the United States. He currently lives and works in Newcastle.

Joseph Johnson’s practice involves investigations into various themes related to our relationship with nature and history. Recent work includes Time Ghost, a project completed while living on Norfolk Island that explored the visual records associated with the Island, and Queer Hunt, a study of human history told through appropriated portraits of historical characters.
