Dawn at the Marina, is an acrylic painting on canvas, slightly abstracted, showing the Newcastle Marina at dawn.

The artist, Richard Kearney, completed, part time in the evenings, the drawing and painting certificates at Newcastle School Fine Arts. He participated in solo and group exhibitions from then on. After retirement from primary school teaching, he did the Visual Arts Diploma at the same TAFE, as well a bronze surf lifesaving at Nobbys Surf Lifesaving Club. He is a member of the Newcastle Society of Artists and NAS and continues to participate in exhibitions.
