HEAP is the leading art prize for emerging artists in the Hunter, with a prize pool of more than $10000 across a range of media.


Emerging artists living in the local government areas of Cessnock, Dungog, Lake Macquarie, Mid Coast, Maitland, Muswellbrook, Newcastle, Port Stephens, Singleton, Upper Hunter are welcome to enter. This years judges Alexandra Pedley Director The Lock-Up, David Rastas Curator MAP Mima and Alison Smith Artist and Production Director Out of the Square Media. Entries close midnight 29 May 2025.


Entries are now closed. Selected finalists will be announced Friday 13 June 2025
