EVENTS
Join us for our Open Day on Saturday 24 September from 10am until 2pm.
Spring has sprung and we welcome you to come out and play at Newcastle Art Space as part of this year's New Annual Festival.
We'll be in full bloom with the fabulous exhibition Clouds 2022 in the NAS Gallery. Come along and we'll usher you into a delightful garden of creativity with our artist-led, flower-inspired workshops, Hand Picked. Help local artist Frances Johnston create an installation of giant handmade paper flowers, or get in the spirit of New Annual's Van Gogh Alive and make your own beautiful clay sunflower with the Clay Room Tighes Hill.
Help create a wild paper garden
Join colourful Newcastle artist Frances Johnston (aka effjay art) as she turns an empty space into a wild paper garden. Think big, think filled with flowers, think crazy colourful!
Make your way to Newcastle Art Space anytime from 10am-2pm and help her make that garden grow.
This event is sponsored by NEW ANNUAL and Cleverpatch.
Make your own clay sunflower
Ali and Kim from the Clayroom Tighes Hill are joining the floral fun with workshops from 10am through to 2.30pm making ceramic sunflowers. During the 1 hour session, you'll be shown how to hand-build and decorate your own clay sunflower. Clay, paint and tools will be provided, and your creation will be dried, glazed and fired at the studio, ready for you to collect after a few weeks.
Cost is $30 and bookings are essential.
This event is sponsored by NEW ANNUAL and Keane Ceramics.
