Before I moved to Newcastle in 2023, I visited my sister several times. I stayed at Noah’s one time and saw a beautiful view of Newcastle East and the harbour across to Stockton sands from the 4th floor. I took several photos. The historical significance of this area is a national treasure with its rows of terrace houses, the small working class cottages, and the grander terraces closer to the harbour and on Scott St. Fort Scratchley overseas and protects this small, yet significant area of Newcastle. I live in the city now and often walk my dog through the lanes and streets on my way to Nobby’s Beach; I see something new each time. This year, I thought I’d paint a small water colour of the terraces on Scott St and the colourful roofs of Newcastle East.
