Artist Name:
Rachel Le Goff
Title:
Miriam
About the artwork:

Miriam is a young Novocastrian working in the Disability Support Work sector. She is tall, lean, and full of energy. It was difficult to get her to sit still to pose in my kitchen. During the COVID-19 lockdown, Miriam continued to work on the frontline, visiting my house to help me with daily living, as I have Multiple Sclerosis. With this portrait I celebrate all the DS workers in the Hunter and bye way of "thank you"; I have painted 8 portraits so far, of the wonderful women who support me.
