This is a painting of Kazz (Karen Crofts) at Nobby’s Beach-Whibayganba Lighthouse where Jaymie Malley was doing an artist residency. Kazz led the activation of the Lighthouse residencies – a COVID recovery initiative for arts and culture. The previously unused cottages at the Lighthouse are now available to artists, writers and musicians. Kazz was a beacon for Newcastle arts and culture after a stormy couple of years.
