Edwina Richards

Edwina Richards is a freelance commercial photographer and photo based arts practitioner with a passion for collaborative portraiture, social documentary projects and photographic archives. She describes her approach as “a documentary sensibility with an eye for the cinematic”. 

She adds “My training was in both Fine Art and Journalism, so I’m always looking for the story in every shoot (no matter what the subject) as well as chasing that illusive something (be it a glance or a quality of the light) which elevates an ordinary image into something relatable, evocative, emotional. I also spent a few formative years working in film, TV and theatre, which was a great way to practice the skill of condensing complex stories into a few decisive frames”.
