Brigitte Beyer

Brigitte Beyer is a ceramic artist whose wheel-throwing practice focuses on sculptural form and contemporary exhibition. Her style finds the intersection between utility and expression, with a body of work that seems to vibrate and purl, holding a moment of motion frozen. Oscillating and undulating, her functional vessels mirror the repetitive forms of shells, water ripples and patterns from where the corrugated industrial landscape of Newcastle meets the sea.

After completing a Bachelor of Art (Honours I) from the University of Newcastle, Brigitte has exhibited at Maitland Regional Art Gallery, LEDA Gallery and The Lockup. Her ceramics have been stocked at the National Gallery of Victoria and Newcastle Art Gallery, and through teaching and mentoring over the past five years she's created opportunities for ceramic art to continue to grow and thrive in Newcastle.
