In front of the backdrop of the Hunter Valley, NSW, a romantic picnic was planned by my daughter's boyfriend in summer to propose to her. The scene was perfect with an overcast, moody sky lending to a soft diffuse light, and two curious kangaroos hopped up for a closer look, which was punctuated with the answer "Yes!". I painted this painting as an engagement gift for them, framed by my husband with Australian local hardwood.
