With my painting I have tried to capture the strong bond between a young man and his dog, set amongst the serene sun-dappled bushland on a pathway just off the Fernleigh Track, in Newcastle NSW. I have attempted to capture themes of loyalty, companionship and the human-animal bond, inviting the viewer to reflect on the importance of these relationships and connection with nature.
