“Tangled up in Jude”

Monoprint on paper

It’s entirely possible the love of my life is my grandmother, Judy. The matriarchal lineage dealers chose her as my metric — sharp, laughing, impossible to outpace.

Judy is a gardener who plants like she’s plotting.
She knits like she’s solving something (she usually is).
I watch her hands and understand my own.

We’re both quick to smile, laugh and curse.

She’s not delicate. She’s deliberate.

This print is about Jude.
