This crochet installation features a tulle material collected from op-shops over a number of years. Featuring more than 100 crocheted chain in a cool colour pallet, this work explores notions of colourfield painting through an interdisciplinary approach. The materiality of the piece was heavily inspired by the playful works of local artists, and the sustainability of materials used in its creation prioritises an environmentally responsible approach to creating artwork. The repetition and rhythm of the piece celebrates the growth embedded in time and the everyday cycles of life, while also exploring more abstract and conceptual approaches to contemporary art practice.
