STOCKROOM AGREEMENT
By submitting work to be considered for listing in the Stockroom, the artist agrees to the following terms and conditions:
Eligibility
Submission is by invitation only. The current round is open to current NAS studio artists.
Studio artists must have a current NAS membership to be eligible for stockroom selection.
Artwork Requirements
2D and 3D media are accepted. There is no time restriction for when artwork was completed or if the work has been exhibited before, however we want to showcase your best work!
Artwork must be clean, undamaged, professionally finished and ready to sell. The artist name and title of the work must be clearly labelled on the back. If unframed, works on stretched canvas should include D-rings and be ready to hang.
Artwork Selection
Inclusion in the stockroom is a selective process, submitting work does not guarantee inclusion. You will be notified of selection by email within the timeframe above.
Exclusivity
Upon listing an artwork in the NAS stockroom the artist agrees to keep the work available for sale exclusively through NAS virtual stockroom on the NAS website for 3 months. During this period all sales enquiries, whether made to NAS or directly to the artist need to be directed to NAS.
Exclusivity only applies to the artworks listed in the stockroom, not to other work created by the artist or to any commission inquiries which will be directed to the artist.
The artist will be notified of the consignment period by email upon selection.
Photography & reproduction of artwork
All applicants authorise Newcastle Art Space formally and irrevocably, to capture and publish images of their works free of copyright, totally or partly, in all printed and digital publications related to promotion and documentation of the Stockroom, including the Newcastle Art Space website and social media.
Storage
Some listed artworks will be selected for display in the NAS office during the consignment duration. This selection will be curated by our Creative Programs Manager.
All other listed work must be stored in the artist's studio at NAS, or otherwise readily available for delivery to the NAS office, should the work sell. Artists may be requested to make work available to be photographed prior to listing.
NAS will exercise all due care with the works submitted but will not be responsible for any loss or damage suffered whatsoever to any artwork while in transit or under its control. Each artist shall indemnify Newcastle Art Space against any loss or damage suffered to their artwork whatsoever. Each artist is responsible for their own insurance cover. By submitting this application you agree to these conditions.
Collection of unsold works
Unsold works must be collected from Newcastle Art Space at the conclusion of the consignment period.
Any artwork not collected at the conclusion of the consignment period will be stored at the artist’s expense and disposed of if not collected within a reasonable timeframe.
Shipping
Sold work can be collected by the purchaser from NAS during office hours. NAS staff will liase with purchasers to finalise collection. Shipping is excluded from artwork pricing. Should the purchaser wish to have the artwork shipped we will organise a courier quote that includes a NAS handling fee (to cover packaging materials and time).
Commission and Payment
NAS will retain a 25% commission on artwork sales.
Artwork sales will be paid to the artist within 14 days of the purchase.
NAS will not process an artist payment until payment for the artwork has been received in full.
