Artist Name:
Robert Saxon
Title:
Marina twilight
About the artwork:
I love Newcastle Harbour and as a kid, spent many hours exploring the docks and the cargo ships unloading their goods at the warehouses, fishing and rowing on the harbour and exploring the wreck of the Adolphe on Stockton breakwater. These days, I love going into 'town' and the harbour, two or three times a week to see what's new. I like to paint 'plein air' as much as possible and my favourite spot is the Newcastle Marina at the Throsby Creek Basin.
In my painting 'Marina twilight', I've tried to capture the beauty and intrigue of the Marina at sun down on a calm, still afternoon.
