About the artwork:
Margaret Wyndham is a role model who displayed courage, dedication and leadership. Margaret and George arrived in 1827 and set up Dalwood Estate, our oldest winery. They had 14 children and she was also part of the daily running and management of the estate. They named some of the wines in the language of the Wonnarua people, the traditional owners, showing early leadership in this area. I've depicted her invaluable contribution, shaping the Hunter as we know it while raising a family of 14.

About the artist:
I travelled to the Hunter on a weekly basis for mental health treatment and have since recovered. I’ve also visited the wineries with my twin sister, who owns a property in the Lower Hunter.
