Artist Name:
Chrystal Platt
Title:
Mothering Grandmother
About the artwork:

I greatly admire women of my great grandmother’s generation. She was one of many women who lived in Nobby’s Camp, raising children during the Great Depression and war. Women like her didn’t have the conveniences of online shopping or modern appliances. They got on with job at hand and took everything in their stride no complaints. My great grandmother also took on raising her granddaughter, my mother at a time when she should have been enjoying time with her husband being doting grandparents.
