The use of the visual reference of a Ukranian Baba Yaga heavy lift drone presenting delivery of harm to disrupt the peace is a veiled comment about the widening globalisation of political upheaval and use of drones in warfare. At the same time in Australia, as a democratic nation, we have hope of positive outcomes through multilateral diplomatic consultation. Therefore the narrative in the painting shows the bombs transforming into flowers falling into a field...at peace and harmless.
I have used a combination of ink, markers and acrylic paint to create this mixed media work, which emphasises contrast in keeping with the theme and inviting the viewer in to the work by the use of a worms eye view at the forefront.
