This piece captures a moment, an interaction with a Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo. He is checking me out as much as I am checking him out. I always find myself asking animals I take photos of ‘is it ok to take your photo’, while I never truly know the answer, sometimes they remove themselves and other times they remain – implied consent maybe? Some don’t like you to place emotions onto animals, but when you’re standing there with them it is truly an emotional experience, an exchange between you. I mean look at him, he is magnificent and exudes presence.
