In our collaborative project, we explore the tale of Persephone, who was seized by Hades, intertwining this ancient story with the #metoo movement. Through our art, we address themes of agency, power dynamics, and transformation, reflecting the struggles many women face today.

Using ceramics and sgraffito, we illustrate the duality of Persephone’s experience, inviting viewers to contemplate her journey and its parallels to contemporary issues. Mythology is portrayed not as static but as a living narrative that evolves, highlighting the urgent need for dialogue surrounding consent and empowerment.

By framing Persephone's tale within today's cultural landscape, we encourage reflections on gender dynamics and the complexities of power. Ultimately, our work aims to inspire empathy and understanding, fostering a sense of community among those who resonate with these narratives and advocating for the reclamation of stories historically dominated by patriarchal perspectives.
