These collages are the crystallized remnants of a process. Almost like a dance, I spend countless hours arranging and responding to fragments of images. The pieces were once part of a coherant whole, a specific memory within a context. A time that actually existed, it's light frozen on a piece of chemical film, its full richness reduced to tone and forgotten in a book not opened for decades. Then dissected, disembodied, a fragment of a forgotten memory, finally reconstituted through the intention of a pattern seeking mind. A mind seeking, intuitively, some kind of beauty, arranging the flowers of cultural overproduction. The resulting compositions sit in a place of quiet believeability, half constructed by the viewers expectations. Plausability dissolving and re-emerging, like a half remembered dream.
