I am an emerging artist based in Port Stephens. My practice is shaped by place, memory and lived experience.
Living with disability after four car accidents has reshaped the way I experience the world, and it has altered both my perspective and creative expression in my art practise.
Inspiration and Memory
This work is rooted in memories of Newcastle during the storms of 2007, a time I associate with both new life and uncertainty following the birth of my daughter.
Seeing the Pasha Bulker on Nobbys Beach after the flooding left a lasting impression and became, for me, a symbol of disruption and vulnerability.
Even after calm returned, the event remained a reminder that upheaval can continue to resonate beneath the surface.
Artistic Reference
The work also connects with Grounded, a sculpture by John B Petrie, that commemorates the grounding of the Pasha Bulker.
