'After the Rain' reflects my work as a trauma therapist in the Newcastle community, exploring resilience, grief, and hope.

The books symbolize the stories I am grateful to be trusted with on a daily basis; stories of struggle, transformation, and finding joy after hardship. The dried flower, fragile yet enduring, stands in a repurposed bottle, echoing the sentiment of life stages being temporary and recognizing that whilst life may never look the same again, there is beauty and purpose to be found.

Light and shadow embody pain and growth, while the warm glow from the sun and shadows from fresh plant growth suggests hope much like clarity after a storm.

This piece is a meditation on the quiet strength, endurance, and the promise of life after the rain in my community of Newcastle.
