Family portrait is the only photo the artist has of both her daughter and late father in the same room. Robert is there in spirit and Rudie feels this more than the artist and her partner. All four of them are in the room, and all four of them have different understandings and awareness of consciousness. Each holding their own truth of what it means to be in that room.
