Concrete Cascade examines the moment urban structure surrenders to imagination. I constructed the surface with acrylic paint, building brick, concrete, and steel pipe until the substrate felt architectural. Ink and thinned acrylic were then introduced to fall vertically, staining and transforming the rigid geometry so that the surface interacts with light and the viewer’s movement, making the cascade appear fluid and alive.
The work sits in the tension between concrete’s rigidity and the cascade’s gentle surrender, asking what emerges in the cracks when control gives way to flow.
