About the artwork:
‘Mud Map’ is a cathartic expression of loss and nostalgia. The landscape depicted is Carrabolla, a cattle property at the head of the Paterson River. Carrabolla was held in my family since settlement, until 2018; When my parents sold it. My father and grandfather would draw mud maps, a scribble that marks gates, paddocks and landmarks to show you the way in the bush. I felt compelled to document through my own mud map the rugged land and mountains that hold so much history and identity for me.
