The image is based on a dream I had where I was in a moonlit place rather like a medieval Italian village. It had that disconcerting feeling of being both familiar and not known. I have tried to convey that sense of disconcertion that one experiences in dreams of being both the actor and the observer in the tiny figure standing alone in the road.
