From a larger body of work I am currently working on which is an exploration of the Australian bush in abstract form. In " Bracken " I see the forest through its negative spaces, catching glimpses of foliage and sky through the entanglement of branches. This painting is about the thick inpenetrable nature of the bush and draws on aspects of the human psyche in man's relationship to it. Throughout the larger body of work I explore such concepts as fear, solitude and facing the unknown and the effects of the bush landscape on the human psyche while at the same time trying to capture the beauty of the Australian bush landscape.
