My painting is a tribute to artist Margaret Olley, with whom I would have loved to have a chat and a cup of tea. Margaret often painted the view from her Church St home, or the Obelisk. She was quoted as saying "if the house looks dirty, buy another bunch of flowers". Despite the cluttered appearance of her house, her still life paintings showed a more measured composition. The straw hat she was often pictured wearing can be seen in the background.
