This painting explores the atmosphere and stillness of the Hunter Street mall, now forgotten and vandalized in contempt of its upcoming demolition. Drawing on my experience as a local resident and Newcastle's changing urban development, I aim to capture the essence of this space. Through this exploration, I aim to evoke nostalgia and contemplation, reflecting on the changing nature of urban spaces and the memories they hold.
