This work is based on a view from Nobby's Headland towards the west at sunset. It captures the drama of the clearing skies after a period of intense rain and regional flooding when the river takes on a brown red hue contrasting with the greys and oranges of the sky. The Hunter river and its seasonal life shapes the landscape and gives the region is dynamism and resourcefulness.
