Sunset from RH Taylor Park
About the artwork:
Maitland will always be a country town to me. ‘Sunset at RH Taylor Park’ portrays a special space - I used to be neighbours with the Taylors. The water is shown as a moment in time, cloaked in the veil of sky that it dons every day at dusk. The boulders are High Street buildings, seen from across the river; you can see the archway on the levee. My daughter’s first job was at the newsagents that was removed to make the opening; she has good memories from the old space and the new.
