Artist Name:
Libby Cusick
Mount Sugarloaf-Apex of the Hunter
About the artwork:

Mt Sugarloaf has held a fascination for me since I was a child looking out of the family home's window and seeing snow on it's peak in 1965 and 75. Visiting West Wallsend was treat, the import shop, it's treasures of crystals, sandalwood soap and incense still pervades my memory. The mountain and it's three towers is a navigation point from which you know where you are in the Hunter. The Co-Op Store, a satellite store of Newcastle's, has a facade of sun rays, for a vibrant and hopeful future.
