The Long Bridge in flood
About the artwork:
The presence of floodwaters makes the topography of a landscape vividly apparent. Maitland has always been associated with flooding and this has shaped the appearance of the landscape. Here a depiction of the Long Bridge was overlayed with a flood map of the area along with a graph of the annual flood peak heights since 1820. The flood map shows the extent of the floodwaters as the Long Bridge control is about to be overtopped.
