Through to Wetlands
About the artwork:
From the domestic space looking out to the natural world that surrounds. In 2021 I bought a solid 1940 -50s built home from the original owners, their family home since it's beginnings. I soon realised that the energetic flow of the house is very domestic. To me, a woman, a mother this felt like entrapment from another era. At the same time I was craving nature so headed into the nearby wetlands. This painting is looking through the banister of the house to the local wild, biodiverse lands.
