Ships, not Boats
About the artwork:
Ships, not Boats, the title of this work, comes from a saying from my childhood. We lived in , or near, Merewether and my parents would constantly correct us if we called the Ships on the horizon or in the port, “Boats”. This work comes from my memories of watching the ocean from Merewether Beach. Our family has a strong link to the ocean, The Baths, and the working port of Newcastle . Its is also representative of my parents, as they aged, and were heading in different directions.
