Light and Lace in Maitland blends the genres of landscape, still life and surrealism to express my personal experience of being-in-place in Maitland. Places gather. They have a way of containing the events and moods that we create and live through; of making them monumental. For me these are the pastel skies, a romantic history, and evocative brooding spaces that create a sense of timelessness that grows from an ongoing connection with the familiar.
