This painting was developed from an en plein air session in North East Tasmania in the summer of 2025. I was drawn to the age of the farm buildings, in particular this shed nestled under a massive cypress, surrounded by a plethora of farm debris, way past its prime, still standing, dried out and crumbling; a story of resilience and survival despite the ravages of weather and time.

I love hiking and painting en plein air in the Australian landscape, experiencing and capturing the moods during that time. I then use my sketches and experiences to create paintings in the studio.
