In my painting "Green Polka Dots" I am trying to express a psychological space or tension that exists between social projections of perfect happiness and the realities of being human. I draw on my own experience of pursuing/obsessing over a permanent state of happiness/cure for sadness. In this work I express these ideas through an exploration of formal oil painting techniques together with elements of abstraction and reduction.
