Swandive is apart of my experimentation in painting with oils, the swan being a strong theme throughout my pieces. This piece is representative of an inner beauty and resilience so hidden, in an attempt to break free from the surrounding darkness held within a dissociative and depressive state. It shows a softness, strength, and sense of self I strive to find again.
The deep darkness of the background displaying a strong emptiness and feeling of being lost within oneself with the glow of the stars providing a guide to find what is missing.
